I learned it in reverse first, like when I was 6. I have no recollection when I learned it the proper way but definitely not pre 3rd grade. I actually didn't care nor bother to because I didn't think it was important, I was an odd ball. Still am.

I can't remember learning it, either. If I had to guess, I'd say I was at about two or three, because that's the same time my older sisters were learning how to read and, being homeschooled, I probably sat in on their lessons and absorbed it that way.

Boxer the Horse could never in his life memorize more than the first four letters of the alphabet. Perhaps he was autistic?

I knew the alphabet, and how to do simple arithmetic, before I can speak and write.

I don't remember NOT knowing the alphabet, or the numbers from 1 to 100.

One thing I didn't know until MUCH later was the corresponding sound of letters---"D" sounding like "duh," for example. I learned how to read through sheer whole-word memory.

I also can't remember not knowing the alphabet. I know it must have been before the age of 4, as I still lived in my first house.

Giggled at what you said about numbers 1-100. I distinctly remember the time I realised I had figured the 'trick' of counting to 100 out (1-9, and then the same with twenty, thirty, etc, lol). I was so excited I spent the day telling everybody and counting to 100. Was 3 at this point as well I think.

I think I was also 3 when I learnt to read. It got to a point where that also suddenly seemed to make sense, and I felt like I'd cracked a code. Seems that 3 is my magic number!

3 or 4 I think. But I didn't know the days of the week until I was 10, and I didn't know the continents of the world or the months of the year until I was 11. Which is weird, because I'm usually pretty good at memorizing stuff.

Probably around one or two, the same age as when I learned to read (2-3).

I was able to do so around the age of 5.

I could sing the alphabet song before kindergarten, probably before the age of 4. I was 3 when Sesame street first came on TV, meaning I was part of the initial target audience. My mother always put it on for me as it was probably the only show at the time meant for toddlers and young children.
