I saw no point in disclosing my neurology when I applied for my current job. Last time I was upfront, it backfired.

So pulling it off as a somewhat quiet NT is what I do. I'm with a crew of ultra extroverts that never stop talking. I find them to be highly annoying with their social status obsessions. I am careful not to share much about myself as these people are more interested in the latest celebrity or trip they've taken and grandchildren etc. I suck at small talk so easiest to say as little as possible. Introverts aren't expected to say much.

I am often left out of important conversations that are job related so I end up having to speak up.

At the end of the day I just want to curl up and talk to noone.

How do NTs go about the day chatting about nothing for 8 hours?

I always figured the chatting about nothing was a way to make time go by faster.

NT get energised by social interaction at approximately the same rate that I get depleted by social interaction. They can work a whole day chit-chatting and then find their favourite past-time afterwards is to do more socialising. That is not possible for me. Very few people energise me.

There are a very small number of people I could spend 8 hrs in deep conversation with and come out feeling good but they are all very far away so that happens extremely seldom. When it does happen though, it does energise me and it does leave me feeling like I can live on that social interaction for a very long time.
