The thread contains jokes, but I think there was a solid concept in the analogy.
I see people falling into "types" too and being more and less compatible with others that share/compliment their personality & general approach to life.
In more "serious" psychological terms, we have the Myers-Briggs types to categorize the owls, wolves, robins & mice (and platypi). We may be all a single species, but we're complex enough that it doesn't always
feel that way when trying to relate to each other.
