My family keeps staying up until 10:00 to 12:40 about.
I want to go to sleep around 9:00 to 9:40.
They are really loud and my room is right next to the tv that they seem to want to use all night.
They keep getting mad at me when I want them to go to bed.

last night I only got to sleep at at least 11:00, and woke up at 6:00.

Any ideas? This is driving me nuts, and I feel highly sleep deprived as this has been going on for months. Is it so wrong to want to sleep?

Wanting to sleep is not bad, but people will kill you for doing it in a way that causes them any inconvenience whatsoever. For a lot of people, seven hours is sheer luxury, although it is hard to wake up cheerful on less than eight. Maybe you can learn to tune out all the noise as proof that life is proceeding normally, so you are physically safe.

Try white noise to drown it out.

My girlfriend wears earplugs when she sleeps so she's not bothered by the noise of neighbors, traffic, me if I'm up, & other things. She also leaves a fan on partly for background/white noise.

Move out?

I had a really noisy late night housemate once whose room was next to mine. I got him kicked out of the house, even though he had been there longer than me, because he WOULD NOT turn the stereo off and the other housemates thought he was being pretty unreasonable. But until he did move out, I often slept on on old couch in the garage!

Could you trade bedrooms with someone else in the household? Could the TV be placed against a different wall?

Currently I sleep with my own TV on to drown out other people's noise.

I have a rabbit that kinda destroyed some of my room so no chance of switching. I would love to move out but at 16 and having a lot of different difficulties I don't think I can right now. They won't move the tv- I've tried to get them to several times.

Part of my issue is solved, I just recently got blackout curtains on my door and window so at least it's dark now.

A few people have suggested white noise but I have tried that before and it just make me feel sick while adding to the noise. I have a device that helps a ton with auditory sensitivities, but without it I have pretty severe auditory processing issues with little to no ability to drain things out.

Anxiety has been an issue with sleeping as well.

Lately I've just been taking melatonin on days I have to much trouble sleeping. It helps.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It sounds very stressful.

When I was your age, I came home from school every day and had a nap until supper time. Then I stayed up very late studying, and was the last to go to bed. Could something like that work for you?

It used to work for me, especially when I was younger I would rarely get tired at all and stayed up late even taking midnight walks. However lately I'm getting very tired by nine. My family is staying up 12:00 to 1:30 most nights.

But are you taking the afternoon naps? Without them, this would just be sleep deprivation.

I've rarely been able to take naps. In preschool even I would stay awake through it and hope it would end. The only time I have been able to take naps was in second grade when I kept falling asleep in school and learned to sleep with my eyes open, and that wasn't even restful because I was dreaming about school.

Next time you have a doctor or therapy visit, ask that person to help you with this problem. It's really a medical necessity that you get good sleep, and your family isn't taking this need seriously enough.
