I'm just curious as to who here has friends and who doesn't.

I have a couple of autistic friends, that's it. I haven't had NT friends for years though I consider my NT social worker to be a surrogate friend.

I have a couple of friends. I'd like some more but not that many more. 2 or 3 more people that I could talk to on a regular basis would be nice. I seem to have lost a lot of the friends I was close to without understanding why.

I moved away from my 1 friend 4 years ago and haven’t made any new ones. A few girls my age have made it clear they’d like to be my friend but it was just too much pressure for me while I was on my way to my burnout. Now that I’m climbing my way out of that hole I like to think I might make another friend one day. I’m just enjoying feeling stable again right now and don’t want to rush it. Plus I have my boyfriend who I live with and a few family members I see occasionally and that’s enough for me for now.

My friendships have gone in cycles all throughout my life. I’ll have a friend or a few friends for a few years then they either move away, we drift apart or I drop them because we have a moral disagreement and I can’t handle being around them anymore. Then I’ll be friendless for a few months or years and repeat.

I have one friend who I made through my wife. We go rock climbing and shooting a handful of times per year. Those are fun activities that require him, but since my wife had a fallout (both NT) with his wife, we don’t hang out together outside those activities.

Speaking of which, many of my friends I made as an adult were through my wife or (ex) girlfriend. I never noticed, but my ex did. My wife encourages me to make friends, but has accepted that I really don’t need them.

In this case, my wife is my best friend.

I have no friends. I make very little effort to get friends.

I've been trying to have friends, but i am too clumsy to actually get them. I don't apply to the rules of friendship very well, it seems.

I have three friends back home (all childhood friends), two in Los Angeles (from all of college and living in LA for 2 years), maybe one in Florida (where I live now). So basically yes, but not really where I live?

i have but i don't feel particularly close to them. a few of them i can trust and they have been there for me but they don't really get me. I am always "acting" with them.

my best friend is on the spectrum. she's like a sister to me but she lives in another continent *cries*
my actual sister is also my best friend even though she's like 16 she gets me. maybe cos she's 16 and im just immature for my age ahah xD

i have occasionally developed really intense and close friendships / relationships but they never last very long.

I haven't had a friend since I was thirteen. When I entered high school I had trouble adjusting to the new social rules and the importance of conversation in forming relationships, so I became withdrawn. My sensory problems also make it difficult to go to places where one would usually meet new people. I don't mind it, though, as I have quite a few siblings and my special interests keep me occupied most of the time.

I consider my coworkers friends. How about you?

I would always have 1-2 good friends in school. It's gotten much harder out of school.

I have a lot of friends. But only 1 that would pick me to hang out with over anyone else

For a lot of my younger life I had no friends or few friends. In my teens this changed and I had a few really good friends, by the time I left college at 18 I only had two friends and those friendships lasted about a year after that. I do nothing with my life and have nothing to talk to anyone about which just makes socialising even harder.
