People with ASD are supposed to over-focus on details and have trouble seeing the big picture, and this has been said about me.

But another thing that seems to happen with me is that I get focused on one detail and therfore don't see another detail.

One example of this is that I walk into a room that I know well and people ask me what's changed, and I have real trouble spotting it. You'd think that someone who over-focuses on details would notice details like that, but I tend to do badly at that. I'm thinking it's because I'm focusing on other details so I can't find the detail I'm supposed to be noticing.

Anyone else have this issue?
