As it has been warm the past few days I have been sitting outside, now my parents like to play music and I have hypercausis, this causes me to feel stress when ever I hear music and it’s like there is a bucket over me and something’s banging on it, I also have very strong emotions and music can cause me to feel depressed and uneasy or other extreme feelings.
My parents only turn it off when having a meal outside they don’t play it indoors but I can’t go outside.
I really don’t know what to do it’s ruining things for me.

Someone else on WP posted about being averse to music. And how it caused the person emotions of distress.

Apparently there is a word for that condition (none of us on the thread knew that).

So thanks for informing us.

But sorry. No idea what you can do about your situation. Maybe tell your parents to only listen to music through head phones, or ear buds.

Did you try to explain to your parents that the music hurts you and you need quiet?
My parents understand it but it took years and a lot of shouting and arguments before my inlaws accepted it.
Do your neighbours also play music outside? It would be considered ill-mannered where I live (not that it doesn't happen)

They do but you can't hear it much, and they barley play it.
BTW I like the Elon musk quote :D
