I need to go to the shop and buy something i need. But i have heavy anxiety and aspergers syndrome so it prevents me from doing things. I think i suck at talkinh with strangers so i rarely talk with strangers. For example i need to go to the electronics store and buy something but i need to talk and i cant do that easily. My voice becomes low i think. My face turns red and i feel like im dying. Everyone is watching me. If i go to the store now, same things will happen. My face will sweat like never before and my hands will shake. I will feel ashamed and embarrassed. When i quit the store i will take a deep breathe because ill come back home. But that embarrassing moment will stay in my mind for too much time and i will need time to forget it. I dont know what to do, how can i solve my problem? Please help me

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

It’s good that you are trying to do things for yourself. I believe things will get better once you do this stuff more. I have to do things a few times in order to get good at them.

I would talk to your parents or maybe a good friend about this. Hopefully, they understand you pretty well. Maybe they can help guide you through the shop thing at first, then you can start doing stuff for yourself with less anxiety.

Do you have a good relationship with your parents? Are you going to University?

Please stay and wait for other responses.

Welcome to Wtongplanet.

Also consider online shopping....I know it doesn't solve the problem you have, but it does get you the item you need!

Do you feel less nervous if someone else goes with you?

hey I'm my 40s and sometimes till can't face asking the shop assistant anything....
Well done for wanting to try, but don't be too hard on yourself if it doesn't always work.

Hello, good luck with tomorrow. Would it help to write down what you want to say to the shop assistant, in case you

are unable to say it. I am a shop assistant and people often have things written down, including electrical stuff.
