How do I support my family members who also have autism?

Be nice to them anyway when they may come across as 'hard to get to know'.

Remember that getting eye contact out of them is probably not going to happen, they might be dealing with some sensory issues and they most likely won't pick up on your social cues or body language. We tend to be pretty bad at reading either.

Just be friendly to them & make sure they know by your actions that they can come to you when they want/need to for anything. We tend to have a very hard time making & keeping friends & so being a friend who tries to be understanding & accepting of them is probably a great way you can help.
