I've decided I can't stand not knowing for sure, I want evaluated... I found this website for a place relatively near my home and it seems good but off chance anyone familiar with it? I don't know if they take my insurance...

https://sunfieldcenter.com

Also any recommendations for Southeast Michigan/Northwest Ohio area in general? Don't ask me to go to Detroit, Detroit gives me the creeps, lol.

Good luck! I looked at the link in your post, it seems promising, I guess the first thing to do is fill out their "request an appointment" form and when you get called, ask about the insurance.

Something I do whenever I get a "no" on something like that, I always ask if they would know who DOES take my insurance.

Whatever the results of your assessment, it will be an opportunity to learn more about yourself, which should help you be more successful in your interactions with other people.

I was going to suggest the U of M School of Medicine, but I see you've already found the Sunfield group in the same city. I hear they're pretty good.

(BTW: I share your sentiments against Detroit - :eew: EEW!)

Sunfield doesn't take my insurance... I might try the counselor I used to see that thought I had it before... The therapists thought I had an ASD but the psychatry doc said no... That was really confusing.

Sometimes there is a low-cost "training clinic" at universities, where interns or advanced students do much of the assessment but under supervision of a specialist. I'd contact the psychiatry or psychology departments at the university.

Good idea! UofM hospital system is one of the best in the country and of course there are plenty of students. I was inpatient psych unit there before and they give cell phones for patient use and allow patients to access the internet/ Facebook which other places won't allow.
