They think we were nice cute normal kids who became mutants not in a good X-Men type of way because of “vaccine injury” justifying any horrific, quack “cure” to “rescue” us.

They often justify thier position by saying “There was no autistics wnen I was in school” or “Where are the 50 year old autistics?” a rhetorical question because they think there was no autism when they grew up and no middle age autistics because vaccines were much less. As a person who had to deal with all the consequences of being undiagnosed until age 55 that is something I really really do not like.

I'd say 7. I don't think they're evil like Nazis but they are grossly misguided. I think their intentions are good but as they say the road to hell is pathed with good intentions.

If vaccines caused autism, we would have had a spike of cases of autism during the mass polio vaccinations of the 50s and 60s.

Yeah, I agree that they are idiots. But it's not like they're intentionally being evil.

Any time someone asks why I get my annual flu vaccine, I simply reply; "1918".
Virtually no one gets the reference.

That was the year of the Great Flu Pandemic, where millions of people were killed worldwide merely by virtue of having the Flu; 500,000 in the US.

1918 was a time before antibiotics.

Maybe another pandemic is in order to cull the anti-vaxxers! JUST KIDDING!

But they are certainly misguided. The world would be full of autistics of their ideas were true!

They usually don't "bug" me at all. I tell them that they're wrong, that the anti-vax research was exposed as fake, and that they should educate themselves before their kids die.

They don't bug me, I bug them!

:D

You are certainly the most kind of us on this topic, honestly every time I read something antivaxxers have said there is a big part of me that wants to strangle them.

I recently found out that someone I know and care about is an anti vaxxer, I'd almost rather find out they have something like cancer. Any chance of you and anyone else can supply me with the proof and studies that show that autism is not caused by vaccines. I just want a long list. :(

I feel strongly about this two fold, being autistic and my grandfather's brother died of polio at age 9.

There's a famous study which debunked the 1998 study which started all this autism/vaccine nonsense in the first place. I believe it came out a couple of years ago.

I am aware of that, but whenever I try to look it up perhaps I am using the wrong key words because all I get is anti-vaccine crap. So what I would like is links.

Google: "Autism-vaccine link debunked." You will get a link to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The 2013 study in within that link.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/autism.html

I hope this link works.
