Do you find fiction or nonfiction more difficult?

I have recently been diagnosed With many things including dyslexia so I was wondering for myself if there is a correlation or a general thing that some people would have trouble with morein one or the other.

I have more difficulties understanding fantasy and complex fiction stories.

But nonfiction books are pretty OK for me to read. They don’t really give me any problems .

Does anyone have a similar experience?

I am the opposite. Fiction paints a picture in my mind and I can read through pretty easily. Nonfiction tends to be too abstract for me and I get stuck piecing together words.

I don't have any problems reading, but I prefer non-fiction. A lot of fiction today is pretty poorly written.

I have dyslexia. I generally don't have trouble with comprehension, but my reading speed is very low. Books with more complex sentences are slower for me to read, but I haven't noticed a difference between fiction and non-fiction as such.

For me it seems to be more a question of how wordy an author is and if there are a lot of unnecessary words. For example, Stephen King, his stories contain a lot of descriptive words and he tends to like to use 10 words where 1 would do.

I think non-fiction tends to be more concise in general, and that makes a difference to me. It takes a lot more effort to read a Stephen King novel. It tends to wear me out.
