When you people go shopping, do you forget something that you want them to buy?

Yes. Just realised that I forgot to get toilet paper at the store.

We always take a list. The list is on our fridge door on a pad, and we just tear it off when we go to the store.

I try lists, but often leave it at home. Sometimes I can get my wife to send me a picture of it. It is strange, I can design and install gas storage and distribution systems, complex motor control circuits, and am very good with codes but have major issues with planning and organization. It can be very frustrating.

Sometimes, but I do have an EBT card that I use whenever I need to buy something necessary.

Lists, lists and more lists. If I have to get things from multiple shops then I make a mark next to each item in a little code so I know which shops I'm getting which items from. There is usually a logical route to the shopping, if its food for example I must get cold/refrigerated stuff and freezer stuff last, so the shop that I get this from needs to be visited last - as such I also, in these cases, put a number next to each section of the list so I can plan which shops to go to first and which last.

The problem comes when one shop does not have an item and I may need to try another shop, as it's not got the correct code on it I often forget to get that item....

Yeah, and it's mostly stuff that lasts and I don't need to buy often because of it... stuff like shampoo and other rather long lasting hygiene products, ingredients like flour or oil... annoying. Could also get troublesome, so I aim to not buy them when I'm out of them but when I notice that I'll run out of them soon. That way it won't be that much of a problem if I forget to buy them the first time I intend to.

Occasionally, I also forget to proofread. My memory lapses of all kinds come under stress, when I'm distracted internally. Over the last day, I made two mistakes in the kitchen, but then realized it in time. This is unusual.
