I don't like it. I don't like the way it smells or feels, I don't like how unfamiliar it is or the strangers I may have to meet. I don't like feeling tense about how I present myself if the person's house I'm going over may have family there.

I can't be myself when I'm at someone else's house, I can't eat like I want, I can't relax. Yet if I want friends I have to go over there house or else they might get offended. I can't invite people to my house since it's falling a part and there's no space for company really.

I think I rather just be alone to be perfectly honest.

Anyone else don't like going over other people's houses? :(

If I know them well, I enjoy going over to other people's houses.

However, if I know I'll be in a crowd of complete strangers, I don't like it as well.

It depends. I don't have the issue, sensory wise. My issue had something to do with certainty of 'territory' and 'permission' than familiarity.

If the household is suffocatingly strict I'd rather leave.
But if it's lax, well, I'd likely stick around or even look forward to it if it allows me a breathing space to go places to. Mostly because I tend to wander off, see details of unfamiliar spaces myself.

I struggle to understand what counts as being 'nosy'. For example, if an unfamiliar household had a bookcase, I'd be very tempted to browse (with my eyes) but some would be unwelcoming of that.

It's like they have more authority in their house

It doesn't matter that much to me

Recently nobody invited me to their house

And nobody insisted
