People in general react to the placebo effect. And for some conditions, the placebo effect is stronger than others. As long as you know what you doing, it probably can be used to your advantage.
To some extent this article is just running down persons on the spectrum. Oh, with your patchy social skills, we didn't expect you all to have the same amount of placebo effect. Well, every human being on the face of the Earth has patchy social skills. We just might have skills patchier than average, and that's okay, too.
