I'll start off by saying this is probably minor in the way of sensory things. My stepdaughter got me 2 100% polyester throws for my settee from Wilkinsons . It's a soft material . I can sit on it ok but placing my hand on the throw is not a pleasant experience. I certainly couldn't wear clothes made of soft polyester next to my skin .

Does anyone else have issues with soft polyester items ?

'Polyester fleece' - Thanks, I was struggling to think of the proper term.

Yes, I have trouble with it and won't wear it. My wife likes to have it on the bed, but I kick it off. It's not breathable.

Urgh! touching polyester is akin to hearing nails scraped down a chalkboard

I can't stand polyester on my skin. Even 50-50 poly drives me nuts.

I used to wake up with my eyelids swollen shut a lot. My allergist diagnosed me with a polyester allergy/sensitivity. It turns out I was reacting to the polyester fill in my pillows. I have to buy feather or memory foam pillows now. I also realized that I was getting hives on my chest and belly from polyester shirts I was wearing. From then on I avoid as much polyester as possible. It's in darn near everything (mattresses, allergy covers, shoes, bras, etc.) so it's not possible to avoid touching any in a day, but reducing how much polyester I contact keeps me a lot less itchy.

Touch isn't generally an overall issue to me.
Nor I had any allergy to any textiles, barely had any constant sensory issues involving it so far, and I had worn a lot of textiles.
Despite constantly feeling the clothes I wear along with my movement for most of my life...

I only got few specific ones.
My most likelier problem would be when something is sharp enough is constantly touching me; this includes tags.
Or actually wearing something out of season; I have more issues with temperature than touch.
And wearing something tight enough; my bra's always my culprit.

I'm more like having less fulfilled preferences because of unavailability, than afford any sensory issues to dislike much less avoid. I'm as sensitive, or even more.
Just happened to have less intolerances and more threshold to deal with it. Due to upbringing? I don't think so. My childhood barely involves sensory intolerances and I openly fuss a lot. My only memory of having sensory issues in touch as a child was having annoying seems in my socks -- it's a usual problem for many and nothing else.

My bed has currently 3-4 different types of materials with varying quality and how it is made, got no issue to any of it -- for years. Save for the annoying ones like having holes on blankets and it kept letting air in or catching my toes.
My irritants aren't from bed or it's materials, not really how dirty it is at all. Mine's actually from humidity and what I ended up my sleep position the whole night. :|

I hate polyester. I don't even like 50/50 sheets and duvet covers. Must be 100% cotton.

So many women's tops are polyester in the shops! I hate the feel of them on my skin. I buy cotton tops, but they are a struggle to find at the moment.

Polyester sweat pants make me itchy

But they are waterproof

Wear pants under them
