It's so bad for me when the site goes down like earlier today...I tend to be a bit perseverative (imagine that) and spend a considerable amount of time clicking on the url over and over, watching that "connection denied" message come up...hopeing against hope that the next time I click the site will appear, it gives me a headache, but I just can't seem to stop. The site has been down frequently over the past week or so...anybody know what is going on?

I don't know, either. There's another message board I go to that gives me the same "the connection timed out" message every so often (usually at night).

frustrating, indeed. i couldn't get on most of yesterday. then, in the evening, a page announcing a new webserver (or something - i'm not too great at technical pooter stuff) appeared, making me jump, cos i wasn't expecting it. i can't tell you what it was, cos i immediately delete all my cookies and cache when something like that happens, in case it's a nasty. anyway - perhaps WP is now on a new webserver and it was down while the changeover happened.

I know there was some work being done with Apache last night. I took off the index.html suffix from the URL because my connection kept getting denied. When I did, I got a page that said whatever Apache work got done got done successfully. So I think that may have been a problem.

I'm so glad someone else was having problems too. I was beginning to think my computer had a virus or worse!!

Every time it happens I always get scared and think that my IP address has been banned from the site.
