Sometimes I find myself closing my right eye. It's not always easy having both eyes wide open. I know I do it , but it's not something I consciously say to myself "I'm going to close my right eye" .

My left eye is weaker. I have to remind myself to open it when I read, even though my glasses accommodate the difference.

I found this https://www.convergenceinsufficiency.org/

Quote:
It is not unusual for a person with convergence insufficiency to cover or close one eye while reading to relieve the blurring or double vision. Symptoms will be worsened by illness, lack of sleep, anxiety, and/or prolonged close work.

Thanks! My left eye has been weaker my whole life. Now I also have diplopia from my stroke, so I wear prism lenses. I've also done visual training rehab (similar to eye push-ups) which was part of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy. Despite all this, my left eye still wants to close out of life-long habit.
