Hi there,

I'm just wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction as to getting help / support when it comes to housing options. I'm from the UK and I'm currently living with my ex partner in our a part rent/part buy flat. Since breaking up two years ago I've struggled finding help with how to get out this situation. I've been trying to find help through places like citizens advice, but I find the information that I get given incredibly overwhelming and I can't ever remember what I should do.

To make matters worse I'm currently unemployed and I'm so anxious at the thought of eventually living on my own, especially as this is the first place I've lived in since my parents - but I can't live with them or other people.

Sorry if this is rambling or doesn't make much sense. I don't know where to turn to, I feel lost. I'm not in danger of becoming homeless yet but I can't stay here in this unhealthy dynamic forever.

Any advice welcomed!! !

Is it a shared ownership mortgage? If so you want to contact the company you are sharing your mortgage with and inform them that you want to sell and if you need help being guided to do it, I think they will be able to talk you through every step.

When I first lived on my own, I took a room in a house with a shared kitchen and bathroom. It was inexpensive, and an ideal way to observe normal life without having to endure too much of it; my own room was always right there. For decades, I was wary of ever living more alone than that, and after it happened, I can't seem to go back and re-learn socialization.
