We had guests and I got carried away and said something which had some laugh and my Mum didn't approve! It was a little rude... Was an example of me in the past not understanding sexual terms and thinking they were talking about something completely different.

A couple days ago, I went into a large store with my wife and sat down on a bench at the front entrance to wait for her. A man a little bit older than me sat down. He was in his 80's. I thought I might have a conversation with him so I began to ask him questions. It was rather humorous. I am hard of hearing and he was even more hard of hearing. So when we made conversation, he was always misinterpreting what I said and the conversation seemed to be going in circles - like 2 one-way conversations.

That can be really embarrassing, Jimmy! I have been really embarrassed when people misheard things I said, and when I opened my mouth and said something I had misheard. Now, if I misunderstand something, I ask for clarification first before I speak.
