I was in a party the other day, there was a lot of noise, and near the end, I was starting to overload. I spent the night sleeping with noise canceling headphones, as noises that wouldn't normally bother me were drilling in my head (crickets, ac, fridge...), the next day was the same.

The ways I found so far to soothe myself are:

-to isolate myself in and environment with very predictable, controlled and non aggravating stimuli.
-sensory diet
-stimming, the auditory kind, ironically. It kinds of realign my sense of hearing.

What are yours?

One of my favorite ways to calm down is to sing to myself. Belting out some Toto or Bon Jovi really helps calm my nerves.
