The title references this article:

https://theaspergian.com/2019/04/17/hum ... or-autism/

I think there is a fair bit of food for thought there, and would like to hear from members who identify with any parts of the article.

Could relate to most of it...

Especially the sentiment on killing myself slowly to survive in a world that is not accommodating of invisible disabilities.
To pause on this, inflicting this low level, but pervasive self harm in order to survive is such a messed up way to live.

On a positive note it's promising that people are becoming more accepting of self diagnosis especially for older adults.

This article certainly speaks to me and articulates some things I have known, but not known how to describe.

I am entirely unable to explain to anyone IRL about the internal thought patterns I have. I no longer try. No one would ever suspect my inner autism because I mask so well. And at this point in my life, I just reduce the amount of time I have to spend in any kind of social situation which does not involve my work.
