Do you believe that people with autism or asperges etc., are more creative then those who are not on the spectrum (NT's)?

I believe you have creative people both amongst people on the Spectrum, and NT's.

It's an individual thing, in my opinion.

I know when it comes to model railways, I am uniquely creative. I have my own style.

I'm not creative in the slightest. I need instructions if I'm to attempt any kind of art or craft.

My NT sister is very creative. She does crochet among other things and creates her own patterns which she sells. She painted a table and clock in the yin yang pattern for me one birthday. I still have them.

I concur; although being creative with Asperger's Syndrome, the one (tragic) element of this condition is its individuality, hindering connection with others who suffer the same.

My sister is very creative in a precise way. She likes doing crochet, patterns, making drinks coasters, cross stitch and scrap books. I am more chaotic I guess, it's hard to define what counts as creativity. I suppose my thought processes are creative, but also constant and extremely irritating.

I tend to draw if I'm being artistic. I am good at copying 3D shapes according to my occupational therapy assessment, but I don't often make things. I'm not very accurate when it comes to measuring.

Oh. I don't normally measure. I only had to measure the 45mm as I had to work out the axle positions. Other then that and the odd rare measurement, I very rarely measure. Seeing those little mm is not so easy.

I agree with Kraftie.

I know lots of creative NTs. In fact some NTs I know have a better talent and focus than me on things like art. At college art was a very common class among NTs, as well as writing, catering and media classes.
