The one that stands out for me is bananas . I like banana flavour but dislike how an actual banana feels in my mouth . I can add couscous to that list . I'd tried couscous a good while ago and not liked it very much. As I'm trying to eat more healthily I thought I'd try it again . I had three mouthfuls and chucked it into the bin ,as how it felt in my mouth wasn't nice .

I can't stand either the taste or texture of onions.

couscous is type of pasta, so it's not really all that healthy since it's made with refined flour. Tabouleh is made with bulgar which is whole wheat that has been cooked, dried and cracked. Bulgar is much healthier and similar to couscous in shape so maybe you wouldn't like that either.

I don't think I could ever swallow a raw egg. I've thought about what it would be like but I'd be afraid that I would gag from the mouthfeel.

I'm with you on the liver. I forgot about that one. Chicken livers or beef liver. I can't enjoy either and it's because of the mouthfeel but yet I have had Pâté on a handful of occasions and I was able to eat that in small quantities and enjoy it.

I also don't like the mouthfeel of pickled herring.

Pretty much the same here - anything with a gloopy, slimy texture makes me want to gag. I also don't really like food that you have to chew a lot before you can swallow it - it always seems to lose its flavour after the first few chews, and then I feel like a cow chewing a coughed-up ball of cud. Having that mush in my mouth for too long just feels gross.

I’m with you on couscous ... shudder . I love bananas though, as I grew up in Queensland, with the sweetest lady finger bananas growing from trees on our property. I’ve always strongly disliked the feel and taste of plain milk(we used to be forced to drink it from cartons in school! :x ), and I still won’t drink plain milk. Give me a strawberry milkshake though, and I’m there!

Smash the bananas in a bowl and find a spoon. :D

Personally, I have a problem with foods that are... crisp? Is that the word? You know, stuff that crunches the way cucumber, salad and vegetables in general tend to do. It's a serious problem, but these days I can eat pretty much all of those as long as I eat pieces that are small enough. I cut really slim cucumber slices because of this.

Tomatoes are an expection though; the texture is just... so weird, I can't stand it. So I avoid eating tomatoes.

Crispy bread is too much for me, it almost hurts my mouth to eat it.

Potato chips are the same.

Taste-wise, I like strawberry flavoured food, but strawberries themselves are icky to eat, even very ripe ones.

I can't stand the smell or the taste of liver, and it has the consistency of shoe leather.

Oatmeal makes me gag.

I also hate the texture of bananas (and am not fond of the flavor either, for that matter). Also, shredded or toasted coconut. I love the flavor of coconut, I've recently discovered, but I hate the texture of the little pieces. I've found that while I'm not a big fan of regular couscous, I actually really like the texture of pearled couscous, which is larger.

I have all other signs of Asperger's but when it comes to food, I eat ANYTHING. I've been referred to as 'the human labrador' and, less kindly, 'the vacuum'. Texture is an irrelevancy to me.

Well, with all the other hang-ups I've got to have at least one aspect of Aspergers that doesn't apply. Too bad it isn't more in the social sphere though

My autistic flatmate is the same. She'll eat almost any food and the more flavours combined, the better. I'm the opposite, I like bland foods so as not to overload my taste buds and two foods put together at once is enough for me.

I like bananas.
