I don't speak all that much (compared to most people), at least not continuously. It's not all that odd for my throat to be kind of sore after talking a lot in a therapy session. I've actually straight up lost my voice after a stint of talking.
Usually swallowing a little coconut oil takes the soreness out for me. Otherwise I just have to be silent to give my throat/cords time to rest.
Never talking isn't all that practical for me, I can't say for your life. You'd have to make that call of what works best for you.
