I'm asking this because I'm curious.

I often get jokes unless they are supposed to be picked up on by subtle changes in tone or expression. Sarcastic jokes that are more obvious I get, whether that be because of obvious body language changes or context cluing me in on the fact that it's a joke. Teasing jokes I don't get as much and mistake them for insults instead of affectionate jokes and in general, I'm more likely to get jokes if I know you more, then I understand your type of humour more and can pick up on it.

I very often don't get jokes . I'm hard pressed to find stand up comedians funny. I tend to go into "what makes that funny?" mode .

I do get jokes. I work with people that say more jokes than just literal/serious talk, and I'm glad I can understand subtle jokes otherwise I wouldn't fit in at all. They've said some things that could easily be taken as an insult by an Aspie or anyone who doesn't understand the jokes, but luckily I do get the jokes and usually find them funny. I've been called ugly, stupid, crazy, the C-word, and anything else you can think of, but I know it's definitely all just banter and they don't mean it horribly. They call each other these names too, not just me, and I feel glad that they do call me those names because it means they are including me in their banter and that they like me and don't see me as a socially clueless individual who will take everything literally. In fact I've been told if you haven't been called the C-word by this certain guy who uses that word a lot (not angrily), it means he probably doesn't like you.

So, there you have it. I do love my workplace.

I understand them. I don't usually sincerely laugh at them, though.

I respond more to slapstick, actually.

And "comedy of manners."

Yes.

Everything is a joke unless told otherwise, it's the only way to make sense of this CRAAAAzy world.

Yes, usually. I never did have much difficulty there, as long as I understand the culture that the joke is based on. I guess I must have always understand the culture around me fairly well, at least from a "getting jokes" point of view.

I don't seem to find most jokes as funny as most people seem to, but I understand them well enough. Maybe the people who seem to find most jokes funny are just faking for social effect.

Yeah, I tend to make a fair few witty jokes myself.

If I'm not instinctively sure if someone's just having a laugh or whether they're serious, I can generally analyse things like the context, the way it was said, whether there could conceivably be any humour behind it, whether what they've said seems like it could feasibly be true, etc, and I generally come to the right conclusion.

You've made a few witty jokes?

Where?

I often get jokes seconds before others do. Whether I laugh or not though...

I like Star Trek humour the most.

It depends on the joke. Is it my type of joke? Is it my sense of humor?

Sometimes

Neurotypical extroverts get more jokes than me

But I don't find many things funny

They are not that funny

Nor should they be

But maybe their jokes are not funny

I get them, but find most of them unfunny. I like humor based on real life situations.

I'm very much the same way.

The "comedy of manners" of Laurel and Hardy comes to mind.
