Is it only Aspergers people that have special interest, is watching kid shows, watching cartoons or buying toys have to do with Aspergers? I know other people that don’t have Aspergers, watch cartoons.

Seems to me what makes the difference is the intensity. NTs have interests too. But they are not as intense or frequent.

Goldenmom is right. My first really big interest, though it had a couple sub interests, lasted about 15 years! Things changed so much, I figured my goals wouldn't be met, so I switched to a certain sub area of that. By then, that subarea, it was a hobbyist field for "GEEKS", and had JUST started to get a move into business. I've been in that for about 39 years. Unfortunately there have been some big upsets, etc.... so I don't enjoy it as much, but it pays the bills. But MAN, for the first 20 years, I LOVED it, even if it still irked me at times. OH, and now those "geeky" gadgets are everywhere!

Keep in mind also, that I was in primary school when I started. We obviously didn't have the internet, let alone the WWW, then. In fact it was before ANYONE had the internet. Getting information and supplies was harder.

You probably guessed I was talking about microcomputers towards the end. Yeah, electronics eventually got SO complicated that when a chip fabricator, known as Intel, was asked to create a calculator chip, THEY DIDN'T BOTHER! I mean WHY go to all of that trouble for a special purpose chip. They built a CPU instead, and simply programmed IT to be a calculator, and said HERE YOU GO! So a lot of what USED to be complicated specialized hardware is now an easily changed program.
