It seems that the very actions of putting neutral sentiments to words may diminish impartiality.

Here on WP, discussion threads can sometimes receive upwards of 100 views; yet only contain two, or one, or even no responses. Interestingly, very similar threads i.e., context, scope, relevance, timing, etc. can yield active discussions.

Basically, "it is what it is!" WP can be an unpredictable environment.

Hence, impartiality by reader views alone can be inferred as that "OOOKKAY," "So what" or "whatever" sentiments which make words unnecessary - hence true impartiality might just be left unwritten/unspoken.

Yet, can gauging reader/member impartiality yield important (often overlooked) findings?

Give me ambiguity or give me something else!

WP seems so dead lately. Each time I visit, the same threads are at the top of each subforum (I don't mean the stickys), and some subforums haven't even been posted in for a few days. I miss the days when you could actually have a lengthy discussion in a thread with several members on the same day. Now it's just a wasteland, and the only active subforum seems to be the PPR, with nothing but boring s**t about Trump.

I am dead center on the topic of expressing impartiality.

And I don't give a damn about apathy!

And I cant make head or tails out of ambiguity!

Off the Wall seems to be reliably active, but that's not a board that requires lengthy posts in general.

And that. But my favourite boards are GAD, Random, Members, the Haven, Making Friends, Women, and Film. But lately these are just dead and it makes me feel sad.

Thank-you for your responses.

A discussion thread that asks, 'Can neutral/impartial sentiments truly be expressed?' is like a discussion thread acting as "speed-bumps of sorts" - to encourage us to reassess our roles here on WP, as well as striving to improve WP experiences.

Why must WP be seen be 'dead' and redundant in the first place?

This thread may be the most adequate thread on this website.

Or not.

The discussion thread: Is There A WP Communications Etiquette Advisor In The House? might be of relevant:

Nope. Political correctness is not as welcome here as you may want it to be.

The current pace is just fine for me, and, I would suspect, it's probably fine for quite a few other members who have other things to do all day besides just hang out on WP. With a much faster pace, it would be much more difficult for me to keep up with even the small minority of threads that I currently look at regularly or semi-regularly.

So, no, WP is far from dead.

I wish it was dead but not until I get back at my detractors.

Two comments...

What helps speed things up is when members post interesting content.  The same old posts in the same old threads on the same old topics just don't draw the same old interest any more.

The recent departure of the last half-dozen or so members seems to have calmed things down to where ordinary people like us don't feel as intimidated (or as defensive) as we used to.  This has contributed to a much more relaxed environment.
