I have found a Adult Aspergers specialist who offers diganoses in one and half to two hours!

The doctor is a well known academic/specalist etc on the subject but I'm just suprised at the time scale.

How long did your assesment take?

Several days. I had talks with different professionals and lists to fill-in.

not counting initial screenings done by people other than the person who assessed me: 2 full days (i.e. 14-16 hours of tests).

I was observed twice a week for about 4 weeks, then I got a proper test done and I was formalised.

Would that be the Autism Research Centre in Cambridge?

I had to fill out a 10-page survey 6 weeks beforehand, get members of my family to fill out an equivalent survey, and was on the waiting list for a year before I got an appointment. My actual assesment, however, only took about 2 hours. I was a little shocked at just how quickly they came to a decision.

I was diagnosed in an hour, so it is possible.

Oh, and by hour I mean, I had an hour session, then went home. About six weeks later after they had collaborated I went back in and was told that I have it. There is a full evaluation that they can do with reports and such which takes at least 4-6 hours I think. I would suggest making sure you are getting that evaluation if you want a report. I have an official diagnosis on paper, but not a full report, and they won't give me one, so now I have to go to another office and have a full evaluation done too.
