Some random drill began half an hour ago... as if the thought is forced upon me, like I could be a pacifist all the other times in my life, but just like the noise is foisted upon, so is the thought of killing the source... like an ultimate gamble, then, as to whether it stops on its own or continues for all eternity.

Whoever said hell is not in this world?

Ah yes. It's not the noise so much as the lack of ability to stop it. Torture.

I was going to say nothing makes me think of murder, but the truth is, shortly before I left my emotionally abusive husband the thought did flit across my mind. Emotional abuse is another form of torture.
Fortunately I chose a better way out :)

If a polite request to the driller doesn't work, I'd recommend taking a long walk (somewhere quiet)

You might want to look into a decent pair of noise cancelling headphones, for these kind of situations...it might help. But they would have to be good ones cheap ones probably wouldn't cut it.

*people piddling on my leg but telling me it's raining, in the million and one stoooopid variants of such nastiness they are capable of pee'in' on my leg.
*back in the day when it was a hit record, i thought, "...if i hear the "song" "don't worry, be happy" one more time, i will take a terminal dump."
*being in enforced and protracted close proximity to an emitter of rap "music" [or what passes for "country" today, for that matter].

Being stuck in a sensory-overload situation, being bullied. I think that's about it. But it's not like I'd ever actually murder someone, in reality of action, it's more of just "how do I get away from this".

When I read the title I immediately thought of noises.

Maybe you suffer from misophonia too.
