What is your "super power?"

I have been thinking lately about how important it is to focus on positives and be thankful, and it occured to me to apply it to my ASD characteristics and focus on the ones that give me "superpowers" compared to NTs. I thought others may think of things I have not, but I'll start:

1. Understanding animals. B19 started a thread about this, but I have been told by multiple people that I understand and communicate with animals (especially dogs) really well. I think this may be an ASD trait based on the responses to B19's thread.

2. Understanding heavily accented English/figuring out what people are trying to communicate when they don't speak English. I think this is largely due to all the practice I get analyzing "normal" English-speakers. I never had issues with the foreign professors at uni.

3. Good at puzzles. I am really fast at putting together puzzles. I suspect this is an ASD trait as well?

I don't think I have one. I don't seem to have any particular abilities or talents.

There has to be something...I mean, it's not like "fast at puzzles" is in huge demand, but it is a skill.

I think super power is an over exaggerated term for knack. As in "what do you have a knack for?".

I don't think solving puzzles is an Aspie trait, it just happens to be something you're good at. I bet there are some NTs out there who have the same knack.

It's a power I've yet to be able to wield properly.

Otherwise, from my brain, I had a lot of knacks for many things. Yet is currently being unreliable in action.
Maybe it's my gut, maybe it's my apparently unreachable center point, maybe it's really just my brain's AI, maybe its the hardware.
Most likely the hardware -- not the wiring, more like the faulty self-repair system.



And if NTs have any knack? They're wasting it.
By being trapped enough to live in a box that aspies thought a world 'bigger' and 'brighter' than theirs when it's just no different from it.

I don't think I have one. It's always made me kind of sad even, to be honest.

I have an uncanny understanding of mechanical and electrical things. They call me the mad scientist at work for my designs and equipment applications. I can picture things in great detail, but struggle to put it on paper or explain it to others. It is easier to just build the prototype and answer questions.

Most things I can do well aren't super powers so much as things I had to work really hard to learn to do.... so maybe my super power is working really hard at stuff?

I think I'm naturally super flexible though. It's hard to put me in an arm bar. Does that count as a super power?

I think persistence and flexibility can be "super powers."

Some of the things I count, like understanding accents, are the result of hard work I think?
