I was recently diagnosed with ASD. I have struggled with severe memory difficulties my whole life. It's like whatever my brain does not deem vital for survival during my every day life it gets rid of. I often forget that certain people in my life exist if I haven't talked to them recently. I forget about important dates or events a few minutes after I'm told about them and if I dont write them down immediately they're lost forever. I'll be holding something and then a few minutes later I realize I'm not holding it anymore and cant remember what I did with it. Skills I've mastered (like driving) get lost if I haven't driven in a few days. I can remember the basics, but everything else gets lost after a few days of not driving. These memory difficulties affect my every day living. I wanted to see if anyone else struggles with this to the extent that I do or if anyone has any advice or skills that help them out that they'd be willing to share?
