I went to the psychiatrist and he told me at the first consultation that I had autism he said that I needed a psychologist and speech therapist, but at the second consultation the psychiatrist said that I was suspected of Autism. How long did your suspicion last?

Could you please clarify your question. Sounds like the pdoc decided you needed to be evaluated for ASD.

I'm not sure if something is getting lost in translation or if you didn't understand your doctor.

If you're asking how long between someone suspecting you have autism and you getting formally diagnosed - for me it was under a year but it really will depend a lot on things like your age, gender, how you present, and probably most importantly, where you are. I don't have any knowledge of how the process goes in Brazil or how much regional variation there is.

I am no expert but it is my understanding that to classified as autistic, one needs to go through a series of test and sessions that can take several days. A psychiatrist may suspect that you have autism after one session but to get an official diagnosis will take a bit longer.
