Does anyone else listen to BBC's '1800 Seconds on Autism'?
When the UK went into lockdown, the BBC recognised some of us would be spending a lot of time on our own, and continued a series they started in 2018 called '1800 Seconds on Autism'. I found it by accident a few weeks ago when the series had been restarted.
To date, there are 14 episodes covering all sorts of things. They're also uplifting and sometimes very funny, as presenters Robyn and Jamie have some humourous anecdotes about their autistic lives, and the support they get. Robyn teaches about autism. Jamie works for the BBC as a developer and autism adviser. From what they say, both occasionally guest-present at autism-related functions, which explains why they're so comfortable with talking about the subject matter. Hope you try them and enjoy them.
This episode from 2018 is a good one to start with: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06swycv
(You should be able to listen to them from outside the UK, as a friend in Brussels can listen to the BBC 'Sounds' podcasts on all sorts of subjects. You might need to create a BBC account, but then you have access to all their searchable podcasts.)

On last night's episode/Podcast, they said next week's will be the last for a while! Pah. I've just written to the BBC asking they extend the series a bit longer to support us through Covid-19 lockdown - the humour and what I learn is great. I've learned so much about myself through the 15 episodes: Lockdown's hard enough on most people, perhaps a bit more so for those on the autism spectrum. And, to my knowledge, we haven't had a funny series presented like this before.
