The main supermarket in my town is ASDA, which is owned by Walmart. They open at 8.00 am at the moment, and give priority for the first hour to vulnerable people and key workers (NHS, etc). I think people can still enter the store if they don't qualify on those criteria, but they are clearly expected to leave it till later if at all possible.
There's usually a 30-40 minute queue to get in for most of the day, but if you turn up in the final hour (9.00 pm - 10.00 pm), then you can usually walk straight in, as it's very quiet by then.
That is really good as well. We should post all the stores that are doing things like that that make shopping easier for us. A lot of stores here are also only letting a few people in at a time so the lines (queues) to get in are very long. A couple of weeks ago I explained to the person in charge of the line at Walmart that I am severely Autistic and cannot stand outside near a parking lot because if someone comes with a stereo blasting I will have a big meltdown and I can physically collapse. He was also Autistic but he does not have sensory processing disorder. But he understood my issue so he had them let me cut the line and come in. JoAnn Fabric told me that they would also allow me to cut the line since they only let in 7 people at at time. But I would have to call ahead and explain to them. At first they tried to tell me that it would not be fair to the other people waiting in line but I explained to them that I would be happy to wait in line if I physically could. But that is not an option for me and even though I often shop online and they also offer curbside, sometimes I actually want to see what I am buying before I buy it especially with things like fabric. Once I explained to JoAnn Fabric what could happen to me if you make me stand outside at a strip mall for a long time, they definitely agreed to allow me to cut the line.
