Symptoms of disorders related to Autism Spectrum Disorder may include, sleeping disorders, communication delays, Prosopagnosia, Dysphonia, Aphasia, Alalia, Apraxia, Dysarthria, Chorea, Photophobia, Dyspraxia, Hyperacusis and Misophonia, ADHD, learning disabilities, language disorders, stereotypic movement disorder, motor disorders, tic disorders, Schizophrenia that is caused by genetic mutations, deficiencies or environmental factors, Savant Syndrome and Intellectual Disabilities




Autism could be caused by many different factors, it can be caused by three factors that can be genetic mutations, deficiencies or environmental factors





I have history of borderline intellectual functioning, cognitive, specific learning disabilities, with history of sensory and psychological issues

i was dx'ed as a little kid with [depending on the school shrink] either schizotypal disorder or schizoid disorder. only as a middle-aged adult did the AS Dx come.

I think that schizoid or schizotypal disorders in childhood mean PDD (not necessarily associated with "bookish" autism). I think that individuals with PDD can be misdiagnosed as having just a specific developmental disorder or personality disorder. PDD means typically social inadequacy and peculiarity since childhood.

I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome (a pervasive developmental disorder with code F84.5 in ICD-10) when I was about 17 years old, in 2008. In 2015 I was diagnosed with schizotypal disorder also (in ICD-10 it is a mental illness classified between schizophrenia (F20) and persistent delusional disorder (F22) as F21). Since above four years I am regularly diagnosed with F84 and F21 together.

i'm glad i'm not the only one with both.

Have you ever been diagnosed with OCD, especially in co-occurrence with PDD/Asperger and schizotypal?

You wrote that you have symptoms of NVLD in other topic(s) if I remember it well. I have also some (maybe even quite many) symptoms which look like NVLD. Asperger's, schizotypal and NVLD at the same time appear to be something which negatively impacts managing with adult life's requirements. I am "in the toilet" when it comes to adult life skills like having a job, having girlfriend or even non-romantic friends, driving a car, caring about household or farm etc.

Do you have any disability benefits, especially financial ones? I have quite large ones since about 2 - 5 years and they have obviously positive impact on my quality of living.

Scientifically speaking, I have Pervasive Developmental Disorder

I used to have all these labels; dyspraxia, ADD, language processing disorder, auditory processing disorder, sensory processing disorder and I feel sometimes a doctor will just take all these diagnoses a patient has and make it be ASD. Same as if they also have OCD and anxiety.


I also have a different learning style and it has impacted my education and my class status. I was also diagnosed with AS under the DSM-IV along with OCD and anxiety. At the time I was diagnosed, it was "This is the best I can do for a diagnoses" and my mom had been informed this is the closest she will ever get to for a diagnoses for me.

I was also labeled as being developmentally delayed in my early childhood and I found my old paper from the school district from when I was 5 and it said I had possible autism (mild) as a diagnoses and they said I was an unusual child.

It makes sense.



Especially Sensory Processing Disorder.



I think that Prosopagnosia, Agnosia, Dysphonia, Aphasia, Alalia, Apraxia, Dysarthria, Chorea, Photophobia, Dyspraxia, Hyperacusis and Misophonia should be part of the Autism Spectrum

System of disability benefits in USA can appear to me as worse than the one in Poland, despite the fact that USA is richer country than Poland. My mentality considers ruthless capitalism or such a liberalism as definitely more immoral, bad, "evil" and worse than "socialism" because liberalism and capitalism appear to be somewhat "cruel" to people who have smaller ability to earning money.

I suppose that in Poland you would have moderate level of disability with AS and schizotypal. Maybe you would even have social pension. But not everyone with PDD gets it.

Do you have ever had diagnoses of Asperger's and schizotypal at the same time, on one paper? I had them very often together since more than five last years.

my respective dx's were decades apart.
