I have just had another "Grouping" moment where in my mind it is similar to or connected to prosopragnosia. Let me explain. When I was in collage sometimes I had reasonable marks, yet sometimes I had zero marks with collage homework. Both were methematical based subjects. Why the zero marks? I was puzzled. At least I should have one right!
This had been going on for a while and I could make of sense of it. Due to the way my mind thinks I was unable to show my workings out (I did not know why at the time. I now know why as it is that I think in visualized pictures), so the lecturers only had my final answers to mark.
Now collage was a very stressful time for me. I did not realize this as it was also a bit of a nutty place (We had one lecturer who would randomly cluck like a chicken in the middle of the lesson without warning and do the chicken actions. We never asked why. We just ignored him. We had another lecturer who would go buzzurk if anyone had passed wind. Oh.. I don't mean just tell us off... I mean go on a manhunt to find the offending individual, and throw him out of the classroom etc... We had another very nice and kind lecturer who could not speak english and was learning english as he taught. A very tallented man but unfortunately we did not know what he was saying...
So when I had two different methematical engineering based subjects taught by the same man but under different sirnames for each subject I did not question things and thought it was normal foe such a crazy place.
This continued, but one day after about a year or so... Maybe a year and a half? May have been six months or more? A good while into the two year course (Should have been a 5 year course but they made it a three year course, and then it became a two year course when I got there and we hardly saw any of the 40% practical work the course promised. It was so rushed they had no time!)...
Anyway. One day on one of these subjects I had sometimes had zero marks in homework for, I heard a knock on the door and one lecturer came in to have a word with the other one... I was in shock. It was then where I realized that I too had prosopragnosia like my Mum did. I thought the two lecturers were the same person.
When I saw them next to each other, I realized how different they looked. But if I saw one or the other on their own... They even had different accents! Why did I think they were the same person for so long?

Anyway... that is what I call "Grouping". Where the prosopragnosia (Faceblindness) can kick in and group people for me. Other times the prosopragnosia acts in other ways where I have had entire long conversations (I have tried to lengthen them as long as I can to try to find clues as to who I am speaking to as if I asked outright they would be upset) and they have left happy and I have left thinking "Who was that?"

Grouping is another way prosopragnosia hits me.

The reason wy I mention this, is that it also happens with peoples user names on this site! I just saw another "Grouping" moment when I realized a person on this site are actually two people. One is male and one is female. First thought was "That's funny! Have they changed their gender?"

I was wondering if anyone else gets what I call grouping?
