facial motion capture, AI and autism

Due to a commission I had to get an iPhone and play with the facial motion capture feature - the technology that drives Animoji and Memoji; Cartoon characters that copy your facial expressions as recorded by the camera.
It works via a model of what makes facial expressions specific, based on machine learning algorithms.

The technology seems to be working well for the faces I recorded with it - except my own. Unless I make what feels like quite extreme expressions. - the recognition works, the technology works - it's actually that I'm not moving my face when speaking.

It's a nuisance for the commission I'm working on that I have to focus on pulling weird faces to test it out, but what really got me worried is that this kind of technology is being rolled out in all sorts of applications and I wonder if it can be used on autistic people the same way it can be used on NTs.

What I mean is: NTs seem to distrust the odd ways of autistic people, speech intonation and facial expressions or lack thereof being likely contributing factors... But this bias seems to now get coded into algorithms.
I'm worried someone will build an AI based lie detector that reaches a 95% accuracy - but the 5% false positives are all Aspies....

Sentiment analysis bots dictating people's decisions on this basis probably already exist.

I wonder if we also lack the "microexpressions" - very fleeting changes that are used in lie detection and marketing research, etc.
Personally, I have been surprised at how expressive my face looks from time to time in comparison to others on a Zoom call. Of course, I know what the contortions mean. . . .
