Anyone else love working/having a specific task to do?

Title is pretty self-explanatory- I struggle with getting started on a task, but when I'm in my element and can focus, I thrive on work to do. Anything from physical labor to writing a paper for class. Wondering if this is a general personality thing, ASD related, or just me coming from a workaholic family?

Yes. Before a task, I am confused about which one to pick, thinking over how best to proceed, and reluctant to make a focussed effort. After a task, I am let down because I had to stop before I had it perfect due to my own limitations. During a task, I'm having fun solving the problems that come up and making progress toward the original vision. I'm here now only because I have to wait for some glue to dry so I can re-use the clamps and then proceed.
In general, happiness seems to come from concentrating on a task that fills the short-term memory without overflow. Meditation into bliss is concentrating without a task or limits.

I'm at my happiest when absorbed in an interesting task.

I have ADHD so I find it difficult to stay focused too long.

When I do do a task I kind of rush at it, even if I'm enjoying it and there's no limited time.

I do sometimes enjoy doing nothing, which is why I enjoy taking baths. You can practically do nothing when you're laying back in the bath and relaxing.

I like working on things (though I'm not super into physical labor). It always gives me a little sense of accomplishment, regardless of the size of the task. Even finishing school assignments early or finishing cleaning the house make me feel like I've done something and I love that feeling honestly.

Though doing nothing is fun too sometimes of course :D
