Hi everyone,

Apologies I'm not sure where to post this! Dinah Murray, an autistic advocate, researcher and autistic rights activist has funded an app to support autistic people during periods of meltdowns. It's currently free and can be found here.

It supports a traffic light system "red" can mean please done speak to me, yellow "i'm coming out of a meltdown", "green" "i'm happy to engage".

You can also send your location to a list of trusted contacts or call a trusted contact.

Android: http://ow.ly/dj7u50Cc9e0

IOS: http://ow.ly/GB5O50Cc9dV

If you have any feedback, please let us know! <3 would love this to be helpful especially during covid times!

p.s sorry if this is in the wrong section xx

^ would've been ideal

@OP: Seems like it could be useful to some depending on how corporative people in their life are. :)

I just bought my beloved (Aspie) husband a DO NOT DISTURB door sign...For him to alert me whenever he needs space...So that i may keep some distance...But this app may be just what he needs...Wondering what he would think about it... :?: :?: :?:

That's awesome! I would love to hear his feedback. I wonder if a part of the app is that it could, when he needs space, send a message to everyone automatically that he needs space? So you all in the household knew that?

I guess what you mean is how co-operative people are at listening to the traffic light system?

We have been so-o-o distracted...My beloved husband was involved in an auto accident--not his fault...That i have forgotten to inquire from him about DO NOT DISTURB sign...Though i already suspect he will decline to use it...I will insist anyway...And let you know what happens...

I'm an Aspie and before I retired I used to sometimes work long, annoying hours. Afterwards, especially when going to a social event, I got into the habit of just telling my bride "I need to Introvert" when I needed some time to recharge.

When I first started doing that she thought I was mad at her. I would explain I wasn't mad at her I just needed to be left alone so I could recharge; I couched it in MBTI terms because I was known to be a strong INTJ--my Aspieness was identified much later. Over the years (20 years of marriage and still going strong! ) she has learned to understand it, give me some space when I need it, and on some occasions has noticed when I was starting to get overwhelmed and rescued me on her own initiative.

Post-script...I finally had the chance to ask my beloved husband about the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN that i recently bought him...His response was so typical of him...In his Caribbean accent, he calmly told me in Spanish..."Are you rich???...You buy so many things..."...I burst into laughter :) :D ...Then, i added, "You want to know how much it cost me???"...[I don't think he cared to know; but i told him anyway]..."One dollar"... 8O

My husband is right in that i am a spender...But with the monies i buy many miscellaneous--usually household stuff--he buys himself an expensive pair of shoes...So, who's the real spender here :D ...
