Is it true that having a certain diet/eating some types food can help with autism?

100%.

I’ve been sharing that here for about 8 years. I’ve been treating my ASD via diet and natural medicines for ~8 years now and have been very transparent about it all here and people either don’t believe it Or don’t want to do any work to help themselves for the most part.

Meanwhile, My life is WAY better with treated vs untreated ASD & I still highly recommend it to everyone here.

Goldfish, I have a teaching job in IT in China. Anyway, I did buy some Epsom salt and I do have a foot soaking machine that heats up the water. So, I want to see if I can try a foot soak this weekend.

Anything that diminish toxins in the colon , could be of help. Including epsom salt foot baths at a high temperature.
Which might generally diminish overall toxin levels .in ones blood stream . Could help overall clarity .

Ding ding ding! I’ve been preaching that here for 8 years. Fibre, antifungal herbs/oils etc, high volume enemas - but people get turned off by gross science instead of viewing it as the emerging field in medicine that it is: fecal medicine. Meanwhile, none of this grossed me out one iota and things like fecal matter (healthy bacteria) transplants are intriguing.

I use epsom salts on my skin for the minerals to detox excess food acids (salicylate acids) via urination.

Anyways, interesting to finally see 8+ years later that someone else is catching on and beginning to share a similar pov here. Maybe someday the rest of the group will catch on.

In some cases yes. In other cases diet, supplements and such makes no difference.

Also sleep habits, living environment, lifestyle, work environment, social structure, occupational therapy and other things along those lines can help with autism.

Also in some cases medication helps.

There are quite a lot of differing testimonials about how this, that and the other helped with an individual's autism.

It really all depends on the individual.

Definitely, optimal diet helps achieve optimal outcome.
Not every diet is right for everyone, though.

Some general rules would be to avoid highly processsed foods and excess sugar, which are bad for everyone.
Eat plenty of vegetables (cruciferous veggies such as broccoli and cabbage are supposed to be particularly good) and moderate amounts of fruit.

Listen to your body when it comes to the balance of carbs, proteins and fats - some people do well on high protein diets but others get sick. Same with high fat keto diets. Same with high carb low fat diets.

Mainstream dietary advice is not necessarily going to be right for you.
For example, most 'experts' would say that whole-grain cereals are better than refined. But some people (like me) get sick from whole grains and actually do better with refined stuff. Apparently it's the lectins.

So yeah, diet can definitely help, but it's horses for courses.

I'd like to know how to get starter packs of the good gut bacteria, preferably with time-release capsules for easy placement.
One time, I had to drive for a few hours, and decided to treat myself to a bottle of apple juice for sustenance. It must have knocked my system for a loop, because I had the dire rear for the next two years, trying various cures until a medical student from India hit on the right one. However, there's probably some stuff still missing.

I just take 30-60B CFU multi-strain probiotics daily & Also use some rectally. Yes, actually.

I googled about FMT once and recall getting some google hits for some company that sells the good stuff refined from other donor humans and put into gel caps for ~$2,000.00. Not that I can’t afford $2k, but I think if I was going to actually do FMT & pay $2k+ for it I’d find a local specialist and do some research etc and go with some ND/MD with a proven track record for doing this right & legit vs buy some gel caps off the internet for 2 grand and then wonder if they were actually ever any better than eating a yogurt.

Solaray makes a good 24 strain of multidophilus, probably available on Amazon .. possibly something in your diet is creating a upset . Some people do not tolerate lactose ,,, or lectins very well . By the way Ayurvedic medicine can be quite useful .

I have no current digestive issues, but wonder if it could be fine-tuned for better overall health. I'm vegan. I do respect Ayurvedic medicine, but it is arbitrarily limited to what was available 5,000 years ago in rural India. Chinese medicine is one of the schools that failed to cure my runs.
A friend who studied Chinese medicine said that she had to forget everything she had previously learned about herbs, so it does not seem to be an exact science. I do like the Chinese custom of paying your doctor for advice on staying healthy, and getting free treatment if you fall ill.
