I know this sounds ridiculous because I don't believe in astology but autism and asperger's have a lot in commont with the Virgo horoscope. It's almost ridiculous. Personally I'm a virgo and you can see why I attributed many of my traits to the sign, even though I don't believe in it. Here's the list

Attention to detail

perfectionism

sometime considered rude or brutally honest

annalytical

organized and routine oriented

dont' like to display emotion

logical

I think the list goes on. Isn't it weird?

Claiming it is the same as virgo is saying that Asperger's is only personality traits.

As for astrology I believe that with most signs you can make them apply to everyone if you try hard enough.

That's pretty much the traits for most earth signs.

No it is not weird. I do not think being autistic is the same as being a Virgo. For one thing, the main defining features of autism - imparied social interaction and communication and restricted and repetitive behaviours are not on that list...

No, it just means you participate in the mass cultural delusion that the positions of arbitrarily defined constellations relative to the sun somehow affect your personality.

j/k. But how could I resist a Sheldon quote. Sheldon screams aspie, in the theoretical physicist flavor.

From a social context, what time of the year you are born could influence what personality you have when you are older...

But no, i don't see a link between virgo and aspies.

Ha! My partner, who is into astrology, has considered this possibility. Her son is a Virgo and he's very Aspie-like in all the ways you listed and he doesn't make good eye contact either. However, he is very social, so I think, if anything, he's probably more dyspraxic than AS. I, diagnosed AS, have everything on the list and I'm a Saggi, who is also far too logical to put any real credence in astrology.

No no, you misspelled it, it's "wierdo" not "virgo".

(Saggi too btw. :D)

yes I realize (and I think I said it on the first post) that it is ridiculous. Obviously virgo doesn't have social impairments attributed to it. Also, I said once already that I don't believe in astrology. BUT, you have to admit there are some definite connections between the two.

Quite probably but I'd say the real affect would be Chinease astrology (in China), there's a birth spike every year of the dragon, presumably if parents are trying to get their kids the right sign some of them will probably pick something up from their parents.

True, plus I don't take much notice to star signs.

For a fleeting moment, I thought the title of this thread was "Is being autistic the same as being a virgin?"
