The above article says that eventually humans will wed robots. They already can wed a robot if they find someone with Aspergers.

I highly doubt that I will. I want to have children - real offspring, not some artificial kind.

A robot you can have sex with is, after all, merely a complex dildo. A good marriage is a relationship that moves along, grows, is possible only with another human.

That's what I was going to say. You can't have children with a robot.

Uh-hum this reminds me of the word "cylon."

But in a way this could be good......just think about it: In like 50 years I really could have my own personal sex toy! And it wouldn't talk back or complain!

Despite being a robot myself, I have no desire to make love to a robot. A REAL one.

Yeah, of course I would. But if they were able to make robots look like that then what would be the point of masturbation and porn on the internet?

For people who can't afford their own personal robot sex toy?

There's no doubt that a cunning use of software. plastics and a good artificial skeleton could assemble into somebody who is a good, even entertaining and compliant lay. On the other hand, if you would like to spend time, sexually, with someone who admires you and whom you admire, who wonders about the world and enjoys exploring it with you, who can teach you things you never conceived before and whom you enjoy making happy I doubt a robot would be interesting for more than a few weeks. Nevertheless, it could be a great few weeks.

this is what i used to want. what i currently want is to become asexual - a robot doesn't sound much better than masturbation, really. one night stands with someone sound fun but i don't have the looks or social skills for it.

Oh god! The machines really ARE going to take over the world. Didn't anyone ever watch Terminator? It's already starting. There are now household appliances that can "talk" to each other.
