I am 34 years old when I was a kid I was suspected of having ADHD, I also had multiple allergies, and epilepsy which, as the doctors wrote, was epilepsy of idiopathic origin, as I joked with this doctor, is he suggesting that I am an idiot :-)

And the doctor that I didn't have a wonderful sense of humor, that idiopathic means that they or the doctor do not know what origin, there was a suspicion that I was born in asphyxia because I had an umbilical cord around my neck as if I was condemned to hang :-) It was I also suspected it was related to the concussion I had when I was 7, but the epilepsy resolved on my own when I was 12, so there are no traces.

But back to the topic, my mother sent me to special summer camps for other freaks with epilepsy, ADHD, autism, Down's syndrome, drug problems like MJ or cigarettes, my mother told me that I should be grateful because thanks to our Polish social health service , we have it all for free, the only thing that we, Poles, should be grateful to the communist, my mother declared herself as a socialist, although she belonged to the democratic opposition under communism, she said that the social democrats, that Marshal Piłsudzki was a socialist and he fought with his peers and that social democracy and communism it's not the same, and e.g. in the USA, parents of similar children have to pay dearly for similar amenities, and we in Poland have it thanks to the National Health Fund from her and my dad tax contribution

As it turned out later, I didn't have ADHD, only High-functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, but other children have bullied me until I beat one of them ;-)

I was very clumsy but I gained respect and hatred like a few of those arrogant a**holes when I cleared them of all pocket money by playing a card game called in Poland as "eye" or "21" which in the casino version with a dealer is called blackjack, I remember my mother telling me that she did not know whether she should proud of me or hide out of shame, my mother told me that in Poland it is forbidden to play gambling games and in places other than licensed casinos, and under no circumstances can children under 18 play there (I was 12 years back then now I will be 35 years old this April)

Now I sometimes play for chips on my Xiomi device om World Series os Poker

Although I dream that someday to spare some money and go to Monte Carlo to Monaco or Las Vegas in the USA, now that the USA has lifted the visa requirement for Polish people, it has become even easier, and play in the casino and even lose some money but have memories :-)

21 is a game of chance rather than skill
perhaps a little on being able to bluff that you have a good or bad hand in order to make others
play, but i wouldn't say that much

other games I believe rely more on skill

If you make it to Vegas
you can join Lily Allen

Not exactly. Its mostly chance. But you can weigh the dice a little if you know how to "count cards".

There are many formulas, but the simplest formula is the one most used by pro gamblers: low cards are negative one, middle cards are zero, and high cards are plus one. As you're dealt hands you keep a running total in your head. The higher the count the more it favors you over the house. Like a one percent edge. But if you have confederates you might be able to engineer a bigger edge. Thats what the book and movie "21", starring John Cusack, were about. A real life "Ocean's Eleven" type thing in which math nerds from MIT were able to "break Vegas" , and Atlantic City, and make money for a year -before they all finnally got their asses kicked.

Yes...aspies should be good at black jack (twenty One), while NT should be better at poker because the former involves the more autistic skill of counting, and the later involves the more NT skill of "reading people's faces". Or thats what one might think if you go by the stereotypes. But there probably is some truth to it.

I enjoy Rummikub (a version of Rummy invented to circumvent card ban), but I don't play it for money. I mostly play it with my mom. 33-year-old engineer plays with his mom, that's my life.
The game itself depends heavily on luck, but requires some creativity with number combinations, especially once you add the expanded jokers into the game, the number of possible combinations increases greatly.

Nothing wrong with hanging out with your mother.

Blackjack is called “21” in the US, too.

Raymond Babbitt, in Rainman, was excellent at counting cards.

I break even at Blackjack, and do better at Poker.  My blank affect and quiet voice seem to give the impression that I never have a good hand -- at least, until the cards are called.

8O "You mean I won?  Again?!"

I don't gamble, so I don't know.

Even if you do not gamble, I recommend learning the basics of poker -- ante, deal, draw, bluff, raise, check, call, and the ranks and odds of each hand.

Engineers are often good chess players, while salespeople are often good poker players.  While this is not always true, it is the way to bet.

I liked that I cleared everyone of the money, they thought I was a freak and a sucker, most of the other kids were more alpha type, and here me, such a nerd, and loser as they probably thought yet cleared them of money in 21 and poker (Poker Amerykański or Poker teksański (American Poker Texan Poker) Known in America as Texas Hold'em :D )) better than a priest at mass :D
