Where I used to work, they used to leave the oven on with the oven door open to warm up.

Best advice is to wear plenty of clothes.

Thermal socks, thermal leggings, thermal long sleeved undertops, keep heating on (if possible) so as waterpipes don’t freeze. Keep hydrated with warm drinks, healthy winter comfort food, gentle exercise daily and cosy bedding. Stay safe and warm there, Jakki  .

I agree with Juliette.

I know some parts north of you will be below zero FAHRENHEIT, probably lower than Minus 20 Celsius.

I'm sorry you're feeling so cold. Make sure your landlord gives you proper heat if you're renting.

The windows in my apartment building, which is just over 25 years old now are not exactly top-of-the line & the bedroom window faces northwest where winter winds up to 30-40 mph come from.
There is a draft from there on a direct line out the bedroom door, across the thermostat, and to the front door.
Covering the bedroom window with that clear winterization plastic dropped my heating bill by a full third.

Because the window stops the wind about as well as a screen door ...
I ended up having to use 2 layers and nail the outer layer to the wall, using large black upholstry tacks, so the wind pressure wouldn't blow it loose.

If you have the money, about $7 USD, and the physical ability to do the job, it can make a difference.

Seriously, just slowing down one source of draft makes a difference.

Although the gal in video says do not apply the kit to painted wall surfaces, I do exactly that with the 2nd layer, Because I Have to To Make This Place Livable, via cheap box tape instead of the kit's double side tape.
And if you don't have that, a clear plastic drop cloth from the painting supplies works.

Well, you breathe, drink, eat, exercise and sleep to stay alive, as usual. Ice is most slippery when wet; by -40, traction is pretty good again. Learning to walk and drive on it should be done where you can slide without damage. If it is unusually cold for your area, pipes may freeze or other problems appear. You may want to concentrate the available heat on one room - choose the area with pipes. If you are piling on the clothes, do it evenly, not neglecting your head and neck. A face mask will warm you as much as a sweater.
Here, we have been running about -10 to -40 F for over a week without distress.

I work outside, at night! But I do physical work so it keeps me warm, and I'm all wrapped up, and wearing a face mask does help as well.

For clothing, hang back the smooth clothes, the deal is to trap as much air in/under your clothes as possible. Cotton (flossed is best ummm flannel?), wool and silk (not smooth silk). Cotton t-shirt, flannel shirt and a wind jacket (tight around the neck) is a usable combo. Thick nylon stockings (the one going from waist to feet) under cotton pants. Cotton underwear ummm up and down there. Dry feet is important, cold feet need dry socks.
Its best if the jacket is so long it goes below the buttocks, mid calf is premium length, never sitt on hard or cold surfaces (especially for ladies). Boots should fit 2 pair of socks. Wear something on your head, hands, around your neck.
long skirts atop ummm what you ladies call them ... look like yoga pants!? You can wear that and long skirts at the same time, ads up insulation. Keep dry. Keep out of moving air as much as possible. Dont seal your flat/apartment fully, wet air need to be let out. Dry cold air isn't as bad as wet cold air.

Edit: Big cotton towels is not only useful on the bech, it can be used as warming blankets too between body and other bedding materials. Air bedding every morning to remove moisture from the night. I've found that winter hoodies under a wind jacket is effective
Edit2: Forgot the food, animal fat, this is not the time to starve ore loose weight, anything with animal fat will do.
If you start to feel cold inside your body, move around. Hot full(whole?) milk with chocolate or honey/pepper is a favourite. No alcohol and as little smoking as you can manage (if you smoke). It can be tricky bc to much hot beverages can overheat your core so you stop burning fat for heat, then after some time you will feel even colder.
Dont hold pee of poop, it just is waste to heat extra mass. Its a bit extreme but I did see your afraid so I just write all that pops up. I'm used to 20-30 degrees below freezing so its kind of build into everything here. As I dont know your situation it kind of scares me too lol

What else is your issues there?

Think cotton fleece with undershirts ,and thermal wear has been suggested to me . Been relying on starches in my food a lot . Was doing well with a stew , beef . Have one good set of snow type boots ,
Wonder if a little extra humidity , would be a good thing , with the heat? Need to buy some flannel type clothes .
Am wondering if the combination of flannel and fleece is good . A flannel lined windbreaker is a good clothing item for this ? Will take the advise for the mouth cover as a good idea , my fur like hat seem s to have been stolen .
Or lost . Wish could care for a dog , but have much difficulty somedays caring for my own health needs .
Am hoping this cold system hurries up and passes on through my area. February is usually a colder month for this
Area . Am told.

Outside, the 0C thing is not the problem, but the wind chill. In strong winds, the temperature is colder in regards to your skin than without wind. You want to protect your skin from exposure. But to be honest, 0C is not that cold--if it is humid, it can feel colder than it actually is. I lived in Maine where -25 is common and that can be dangerous if not careful when hiking.

But find out what the locals do. Then tend to know the best gear that is available in your region. I found out about Muck Boots and Sorels when I moved to Maine.

Been relying on starches in my food a lot . Was doing well with a stew , beef . Yep your good.
Have one good set of snow type boots , Should be good enough, remember dry feet :)
Wonder if a little extra humidity , would be a good thing , with the heat? It can be pleasant but does not help for the cold. In theory it will reduce the mucus production so pleasant yes
Need to buy some flannel type clothes . Good idea
Am wondering if the combination of flannel and fleece is good . Yes
A flannel lined windbreaker is a good clothing item for this ? Yes preferebly below .. as close to midcalf?! as possible
Will take the advise for the mouth cover as a good idea , But be aware of moisture from your breath
my fur like hat seem s to have been stolen . Ouch!
Or lost . Wish could care for a dog , but have much difficulty somedays caring for my own health needs .

Talk with ppl living in the area are really good idea, like people working at clothes-stores ;)
Sounds like you are basically well set up for it, so dont worry to much.

Thank you ...have found temps are going to be dipping below 0 degrees F , not including windchill averaging below
Minus 8 degrees to minus 20 or much more if there is wind . Unloading and loading groceries is quite difficult . Thirty feet each load in the snow and chill , get to be very daunting ....most times during the hard freeze .

The cold shock can get your heart racing, but you get used to it. If there isn't much wind, I may not wear a coat for a quick errand. If I'm going to handle things from outside, I'll always wear gloves, though. The funny thing is that I still get cold from my chilled clothing after getting back inside.
If I'm going to be shovelling snow, I'll often go with a good hat and boots, great gloves, and just a light jacket. Work is central heating.

I like the analogy of central heating ,find myself always losing one glove each year of my best outdoor work mittens.
Thank you on pointers for dressing for outdoor snow shoveling... always end up with one part or the other freezing ,
Or start sweating inside my core areas.

If you sweat in cold weather, you can be in very big trouble unless you can get inside or change into dry clothing.
BTW, I met a guy who survived a winter with lots of your current weather, living in a van with 19 blankets.
People often complain of feeling cold at the beginning of winter, even though their house thermostat has not changed. That's because it just regulates air temperature, but the walls and ceiling are cooler, radiating less heat.
I use a heated mattress pad to pre-warm my bed, and it feels wonderful. There are antique devices for doing the same job with a pan of coals from the fire.
