I'd like to ask for some opinions on a topic. I'm not sure where to post it though. It could be upsetting to some people. (It is for me, that's why I want to talk about it with others.) So I considered posting it in the haven, but it's more of a discussion I want, rather than comfort. It's about what I've seen in different online autism communities and how some of my views differ from the overall views of those communities, and I guess how it makes me doubt my own. It's about feeling confused and sad, because people have told me my views make me a bad person. I don't think I am, but maybe it's a problem how I think sometimes? I don't know. People here seem like a relatively rational bunch. I wonder what you all think. Please give me some perspective.

If there is a better place for this topic, I will post there. Otherwise, I'll just create an additional one here. If anyone is interested.

I'd also say The Haven.

I'm interested in having a look, but I never visit the Haven.

Have not visited the Haven but once ,, but a lot of the new posts can end up here in the beginning.
Rules for the forums seem to allow the haven forum lotsa latitude in the rules .

Disclaimer: I'm relatively new to WP, spend most of my time in selected areas, and deliberately ignore some threads. And I deliberately try to avoid The Haven because I don't think its rules and me are a are a good match.
With that said:

Does not sound like a The Haven goal to me.

My question is: Would you prefer that only registered members of WP be able to see the discussion? If so, Members Only Discussion. Otherwise,...more discussion about the discussion might be needed.

Members Only

or

The Haven.

Maybe "Members Only" would be best. Some screening of folks there.

Or depending upon what you're gonna talk about...maybe the "Adult" section (the "Adult" meaning obscene section, not the OTHER "adult" section here which is "adult" as in "middle aged or older").

There is always this section, otherwise, it depends on the topic.

I would suggest Autism Politics, Activism, and Media Representation.

If you want discussion rather than comfort, then The Haven is probably NOT the appropriate place. Again I would suggest "Autism Politics, Activism, and Media Representation," if what you intend to discuss is a matter of controversy pertaining to the autism community itself.

If it pertains to your political, social, or philosophical views more generally, or to miscellaneous matters of controversy that don't pertain to autism itself, then the appropriate place is Politics, Philosophy, and Religion

So far, none of us who have replied to you are moderators. Could a moderator please step in and be the voice of authority here?
