Questions about eccentric behaviors in the SPQ-A test have high correlation to Aspie score. I also note that people usually don't mean stims here, because these questions are not especially related to stim-questions (Aspie communication group) in the quiz.

So what are the eccentric behaviors? Are there some that are very common?

IOW, post your eccentric behaviors here :-)

Eccentric behavior. Wow, where do I start? I'll just list a few off.
-I love to sit in the dark. Especially when i'm stressed out.
-I stay home quite a bit.
-I collect weird things.
-my general lifestyle, and how i interact with people.

I could go on for quite a ways. I certainly can't say i'm "normal".

I have been collecting magazines since I was about ten, occassionally I can bring myself to throw out the really old ones but my room is still dominated by giant stacks of the things. I have to spend hours in there by myself every day re-reading old articles.

I walk my dogs some where between 1AM-5AM: I've never saw anyone else walking a dog at that time. :) Seeing other people walking period at that time is fairly rare to. I have little control of my sleeping pattern but I try to be awake in the hours when most other people are asleep.

Oh forgot I'm in the US and people walk alot less here in the daytime compared to other places to.

I just started looking on the net for list of behaviors like this and found this interesting link on creativity and schizotypal personality.

I never read newspapers

I don't own a mobile phone

I only wear a watch for work and that doesn't actually work (battery went over a year ago)

For lunch at work I had tuna sandwiches every day for a year; I am now on BLTs which I will also have for several months

A colleague at work recently teased me for the way I line my lunch up before I eat it

I tend to line things up a lot and like to stack items in a particular way

I sing to my cats and talk to my chickens (in chicken language)

(disclaimer: dunno if I have it, but here's some of my oddities anyway:)

Walking for hours and hours, especially in foreign cities, because I don't know where to stop.
Sometimes I read while walking. I was told I look like a monk the other day :p
Walking away or starting to whistle while someone's talking to me (without noticing).
Don't have a mobile phone or a watch,
Spending 10 hours a day reading about AS.
I ate the same thing every day for 3 years in college. chilli ftw :p

I like to goosestep at work if I get bored. I get bored a lot.

I tend to wear the clothes I wear on a Friday for the whole weekend.

And for a while at university I would eat only one meal a day, always consisting of a pastry slice (preferably with ham & cheese filling), a big bag of Skittles, and a bottle of Sprite. Needless to say, this caused me to lose quite a bit of weight...

There are things I like to line up on my desk at work (post-it notes, mostly), but I'm quite messy in other respects.

It took me a while to shake eating my food one item at a time (if I had, say, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, I would eat the Yorkshire pudding first, then the roast beef, then the vegetables). I don't do it now, thankfully.

I stay home quite a bit.

I never read newspapers.

I don't own a mobile phone or a watch. (Phones and clocks are ubiquitous. :? )

Monotonous diet.

Monotonous wardrobe.

I’m sure there are others. It just doesn’t occur to me that these behaviors are odd or eccentric.

Nothing weird about any of the stuff so far ;) .

I have a stationary fettish (laugh, not my observation, please note, my colleagues pointed it out and said Am I Aware That I Have A Problem?). I have every bit of stationary possible at my desk, from multicoloured post-it's to a toolbox with little drawers and slots where I can categorise my pins and stapler refills and different pens (sorted by colour, of course) and stickers (to colour code my documents for faster filing, as they tend to stack up on my desk over time)...I could go on.

I am seriously ashamed to say that I, too, have often just went from Friday to Monday morning in the same T-shirt... (but not when my husband is around. Then I'd probably change somewhere around Saturday afternoon... lol).

I struggle to talk socially to people without something in my hand (usually a cup of coffee or a pen/booklet - I'm an analyst, we are expected to walk around with those two things...!)

I rarely leave home (except for appts., picking son up from school, grocery shopping and to go visit relatives).
I never read newspapers.
I don't have a cell phone.
I am a very picky eater and tend to eat the same things day by day.
I am also very "monotonous" in what I wear, things have to be similiar in texture and all.
I need things organized in order by alphabetical, etc.
I rarely talk to people unless I can find some sort of "common ground" ie. if a woman has a child, I can relate to that and often I'll speak to them as I'm a mom myself.
My desk has it's own chaotic organization that if it is disrupted, I have a hard time handling it.
Took me till I was 20+ to really bothering wearing a watch, now I never go without one, sleep with it on too, can't sleep well without it.
My foods couldn't touch unless it was a casserole thing.
Vegetables I did like always had to be raw.
I talk to cats and they talk back to me.

There's likely much more but not coming to mind at the moment.

I at least USED to have a very monotonous diet. It is STILL quite simple.
I stay at home WAY too much.
I have some funny ways of doing things, and do some things that just seem odd. I won't be more specific, because THEN everyone will be able to identify me from a block away!
I always seem to have something I REALLY want to do

Looks like there are quite a few common items in peoples lists, here's mine

I don't own a cellphone
I have a monotonous diet, sometimes eating the same thing on a particular day for weeks
My standard dress is a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, for years at work I was always seen wearing a dark blue suit with white shirt and a dark blue tie
I always sit at the back when I go to the movies and try to get a seat near the middle.
I stay at home for most of the week.
I talk to my cats (and they talk back. IN our apartment block I'm known as 'the cat man'.
I don't read newspapers
I walk around cities for hours (at least it helps keep me fit)

monotonous diet and wardrobe

On those rare occasions a meal does consist of more than one item, I eat them one at a time from least favorite to most favorite. If it's some type of chili I'll tend to do the same thing in the opposite order.

I tell jokes that the people around me take seriously.

When I did an at-home silent meditation retreat a number of months ago I took all of my pictures off the walls and hid away my alarm clock. I realized I like things better that way and haven't put them back since.

I'm spiritual and agnostic.

I tend to only go outside if there's something I need like food or to pay my rent.

Normally my apartment isn't very clean at all but when I do decide to clean the place is spotless.

If it seems like a good way to explain a point or relate to what someone is saying I'll mention details about my life that I think other people would be less likely to bring up and then I'll get annoyed when those details become the topic of conversation. Frequently it seems I'll say something that transforms the person I'm speaking with into an armchair psychologist even though I never came to them for that.

If my girlfriend's not around I will make a really big pot of something and eat it every day and I may also wear the same clothes quite frequently.

Sometimes I forget to eat.

I often stop reading a book right before the conclusion.

edit: And I just realized that for the the past five minutes I've been double-clicking my mouse repeatedly.

I love anything and everything related to cats. I am a member of a Siamese cat site, I collect cat related items, I read Cat Fancy and talk to and play with my cats regularly.

My two favorite athletes are both named Roger-runner Roger Bannister and tennis player Roger Federer.

I read a lot, do crosswords, word game puzzles, and Sudoku. Very often, these are the most useful and interesting sections of the whole newspaper.

I ate the same thing for lunch every day for four years
I don't carry a cell phone
I don't wear a watch
I wear sweatpants into the summer long after other people have switched to shorts
I pace while reading (I usually see well enough out of my peripheral vision to avoid bumping into things)
When I eat a pizza, I don't eat the crusts, and I arrange them back in the box in a perfect circle

There are probably more; these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

My wardrobe is also very monotonous. The bad thing about it is I just realized a couple months ago that most of my outfits are identical, and I've had the same clothes for almost 2 yrs. Other people probably think that I wear the same 2 sets of clothes 80% of the time.
I don't leave the house unless need to, and that really doesn't bother me.
I rarely read a newspaper, or watch the news. I'm clueless about current events.
I get stuck on a certain new song, and will listen to it repetitively for months on end.
I have underlying rules for everything. The way my dishes are washed, towels are put away, the way food is stacked in the cupboard, everything! I get very upset when things are not done in this order, because as far as I'm concerned my way is better. I logically think out the best way of doing anything.
I make lists of lists of everything. To do lists, grocery list, ect... I need things written and categorized to understand them.
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of for now.
