I'm not sure anyone's saying it's a cause, just that they correlate.
It might be more likely that people who were born prematurely or via c-section or whatever to be autistic. It doesn't mean that being born prematurely or via c-section or whatever causes autism, just that people who are autistic might be more likely to also have those things be true.
