I joined a boxing club back in June and since then, I've gone into fighting in the ring with an opponent. Sometimes, my opponent will be the one wearing the red boxing gloves, shorts, vest and head protection gear and myself the blue equivalent and other times it's the other way around, myself in red and opponent in blue.
I seem to have a preference for being in blue boxing gear, when I'm in red boxing gear, I feel like I don't fight as well against my opponent. Last Thursday, I was in the boxing ring but in blue boxing gear, so I feel like I easily won.
Does this sound like a typical aspie trait?

I totally understand it. When I used to do martial arts, I wanted to buy a blue chest guard but they only had red ones so I had to go with that instead. I know I would have felt better and sparred better with a blue one.
Whenever I've watched boxing I've always gone for the boxer in blue.
I just like blue the most.

Probably not since athletes in general are a bit superstitious sometimes and what your describing is common in all competitive sport as a quick google search will show.
It’s probably psychological in that you probably feel more confident with the right gloves and this is reflected in how you perform. Some would say try to break through it but this superstition would only be transferred elsewhere.
Well done for being brave enough to get into the ring by the way.
Us aspies are said to have poor co-ordination which is partly true with me what was your coordination like when you first started?
