Curious if anyone else experienced this as from what I have read about tics is they tend to be something that shows up in childhood but I can't seem to find as much information on tics in adults.

I never had any kind of tic at all as a child, but a few years ago I was working in an office with a particularly challenging environment for me. Lots of background noise from multiple people being on phones at the same time whilst also having to speak on the phone myself (basically impossible lol). This is when I started to get like an odd sensation around my shoulders and then I would have to shrug. This shoulder shrugging tic was definitely worse when tired/anxious/agitated by all the sounds around me.

I've since left this workplace and the tic is not as bad anymore, but it hasn't gone away either so I guess I'm stuck with it now. When I'm focused on things that I enjoy it doesn't appear at all. Certain sounds can trigger it or if I'm tired and unwell I will do them more often, even if I'm just at home. It got worse recently when I was spending a lot of time doing language exchange as this gave me a ton of anxiety, especially when speaking. Taking a break from this has helped a lot.

Anyone else have a similar experience, and if so, did the tic ever go away or get worse?
